The university has 12 faculties, including the School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, and offers professional programs in medicine, business, law, and engineering. Western has one of the highest national entrance averages of first-year students (90.6%), and boasts a 95.2% employment rate for co-op students after graduation!

Students studying at Western University can choose from over 400 undergraduate specializations, majors, and minors. The university’s Social Sciences & Management, Life Sciences & Medicine, Engineering and Technology, Arts & Humanities, and Natural Sciences programs have a reputation for excellence and were included in the 2021 QS World University Rankings. Western also offers other unique courses such as Integrated Science, Popular Music Studies, and Biomedical Engineering, many with real-world training opportunities.

Students studying at Western University have 10 residences to choose from, including traditional-style, suite-style, and hybrid-style accommodations. Regardless of which residence a student chooses, every first-year building features:

Most residences have in-house dining halls with extended hours and a Nutrition Manager to help students develop a personal dietary plan. Financial Support at a Glance

Western University offers a multitude of scholarships and awards for international students.number of exclusive entrance scholarships are available to first-year international students who are beginning full-time studies. These scholarships include the International President’s Entrance Scholarship (C$50,000), and an Afghan Student Refugee Scholarship, which covers the cost of tuition, fees, and living expenses up to C$25,000 per year for up to four years. Getting to Know London, Ontario

London, Ontario is a city full of rich history and year-round events for students to enjoy, both on and off-campus! From festivals, like the annual Strathroy Hometown Festival and cultural institutions such as Museum London, to gardens and trails, seasonal markets, and pubs and restaurants, there is no shortage of things for students to do in London.

Insider Tip: Some favourite student pubs and restaurants in London include The Spoke, an on-campus pub located at the University Community Centre, as well as Barney’s, an off-campus bar downtown, with delicious food and student-friendly prices.

Life After School

With a 95.2% employment rate after graduation, Western University truly sets students up for success. The university offers a number of resources to ensure graduates find employment related to their field of study. This extends to a diverse alumni network with perks such as exclusive services, career resources and support, learning opportunities after graduation, and extended networking opportunities. Graduates may also be able to take advantage of Canada’s Post-Graduation Work Permit Program (PGWPP). The PGWPP allows eligible applicants the opportunity to live and work in Canada for up to three years after graduating.
