Niagara Falls: One of the wonders of the world

North America is home to one of the many beautiful wonders of the world – Niagara Falls. Upon arrival, you can hear the loud thunder of gallons of water crashing down the falls. You can feel the mist lightly tapping against your skin and can smell the scent of fresh currents rolling down the river. All of this comes together to build your experience before you even get to see the breathtaking falls. At this point you may already be thinking, this is one of the most unique travel experiences you’ve had yet.

12,000 years old, the falls is made up of three different waterfalls connecting Canada and the U.S. The Canadian Horseshoe Falls is located in Ontario, and the American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls in New York. Flowing at approximately 35 miles/hour and falling down a height of 180 feet, Niagara Falls is a dangerously stunning natural attraction. Millions of tourists, both local and international, visit the destination annually as the Falls are one of the most sought after wonders. As a highly photographed location internationally, visitors have the ability to not only see but experience the falls at close proximity. No photo will truly be able to capture your encounter with the falls.

There are many things to do in Niagara Falls, whether you choose to get up close and personal or not!

Maid of the Mist is a boat tour created for those looking for the ultimate experience. Boat captains have learned to navigate the wild currents in the Niagara Gorge to take get you closer to the falls than ever. You’re encouraged to wear a poncho to protect you from getting drenched by the water! If you feel this isn’t enough, you can take a Journey Behind the Falls. Here you’ll not only feel the water on your skin, but you’ll also feel the vibration of the Horseshoe Falls.

Perhaps you’re not so much of an adventure-seeker and choose to keep your distance. Many other local activities exist to make your time at the falls a memorable one. You can stroll the White Water Walk, hop on the Niagara SkyWheel or explore the attractions on Niagara’s most popular street, Clifton Hill. Either way, you will encounter something new alongside nature’s phenomenal creation.
