About Integrated Master of Engineering - Electrical Engineering (Study Abroad Year in Year 3) (H62V)

Electrical engineers are responsible for designing and developing new technologies to generate and process power. Student create equipment that is used to distribute electrical energy, including 'Smart Grid' technologies for renewable energy sources, and provide support to various manufacturing industries.

The advancements in electrical engineering technologies have now made it possible to develop hybrid and electric vehicles, trains, ships, and even aircraft.

The course offered provides specialized electrical knowledge and skills that contribute to a more sustainable future. Through lab-based projects and collaborative work in small teams, students gain essential problem-solving and design skills.

During the third year of the program, students have the opportunity to study at either the China or Malaysia campus, where they can immerse themselves in different cultures. The curriculum remains the same as that of the UK, and all instruction is conducted in English. Students focus on core modules and can choose optional modules based on their selected subject specializations.

By combining their numerical, analytical, and technical knowledge, students gain the confidence to create engineering solutions that meet industry demands.

Initially, all undergraduate students in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering follow a common program of study. However, they have the flexibility to switch to a different plan until the end of their third semester in the second year. Additionally, students can choose to add or remove a year abroad or a year in industry after joining the course. By the third year, students have the opportunity to specialize in topics that align with their interests and career goals.

If a student receives an offer at the MEng level, it will also include a contextual offer for the BEng version of the course. This means that if the student does not meet the required results for the MEng offer but would have met the requirements for the BEng version of the chosen course, they will automatically be offered a place in the BEng version.
