About Integrated Master of Engineering - Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Study Abroad Year in Year 3) (H605)

Electrical and electronic engineers are responsible for designing, developing, testing, and overseeing new technologies. Student focus on generating and processing power, as well as creating various products such as drones, electric cars, smartphones, sat navs, and hospital systems.

The course offered provides the necessary engineering expertise for a career in engineering or other related professions. Students will engage in lab-based projects, working both individually and in small teams, to apply their numerical, analytical, and technical knowledge in problem-solving different scenarios.

In the second year, students have the opportunity to apply for a study program at either the China or Malaysia campus. This allows them to immerse themselves in different cultures while following the same curriculum as the UK campus. All teaching is conducted in English, and students will study core modules along with optional modules based on their chosen subject specialisms.

Initially, all undergraduate students in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering follow a common program of study. However, they have the flexibility to switch to a different plan until the end of their third semester in the second year. Additionally, students can choose to include or exclude a year abroad or a year in industry after joining the course. By the third year, students can specialize in specific topics that align with their interests and career goals.

For those who receive an offer at the MEng level, a contextual offer for the BEng version of the course will also be included. This means that if the required results to meet the MEng offer are not achieved, but the requirements for the BEng version of the chosen course are met, the student will automatically be offered a place in the BEng version of the course.
