About Integrated Master of Engineering - Electronic Engineering (Study Abroad Year in Year 3) (H61V)
Electronic engineers are responsible for designing, developing, testing, and overseeing the creation of various electronic devices and systems, ranging from drones and electric cars to smartphones, sat navs, and hospital technology. The course offered provides students with multiple opportunities to enhance their understanding of electronics. Students will engage in lab-based projects, both individually and in small teams, learning valuable skills in project management and applying technical knowledge to problem-solving scenarios.
In the third year of the program, students have the option to study at either the China or Malaysia campus, providing them with a chance to immerse themselves in different cultures. The curriculum remains consistent with that of the UK, and all instruction is conducted in English. During this year, students will focus on core modules and select optional modules based on their chosen subject specializations.
As the field of electronics technology continues to evolve, graduates of this course will possess the confidence and ability to create, understand, and develop future electronic systems. The course also equips students with the necessary engineering expertise for a career in engineering or various other professions.
Initially, all undergraduate students in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering follow a common program of study, allowing them to switch to a different plan until the end of their third semester in the second year. Additionally, students have the flexibility to add or remove a year abroad or a year in industry after joining the course. By the third year, students can choose to specialize in their preferred topics that align with their career aspirations.
For those who receive an offer at the MEng level, a contextual offer for the BEng version of the course will also be included. This means that if a student fails to meet the requirements for the MEng offer but would have met the requirements for the BEng version of their chosen course, they will automatically be offered a place in the BEng version.
