About Master of Engineering (Honours) (MEng) - Structural and Fire Safety Engineering (HHF1)

Structural and fire safety is very wide-ranging and impacts The University of Edinburgh daily lives in diverse and unexpected ways. Students will gain a valuable grounding in civil and environmental engineering and learn how to mitigate fire risk through the design, construction and protection of infrastructure.

This programme builds on many of the fundamental concepts of civil and environmental engineering. students will learn how to apply scientific knowledge and modern engineering tools to all major forms of infrastructure, in relation to:
  • Analysis
  • Design
  • Construction
  • Maintenance
This will allow students to determine the effects of modern construction methods and materials on the safety of buildings and infrastructure.
