About Master of Arts (Honours) - Scottish Literature and Scottish History (QV22)

Through the critical reading of texts of all kinds, The University of Edinburgh joint honors program in Scottish Literature and Scottish History helps students understand the political, intellectual, economic, social and cultural forces that have shaped the Scotland of today.
The University of Edinburgh program aims to develop students critical, analytic, linguistic and creative skills by engaging with a broad range of texts and a variety of approaches to reading.
Students will explore the cultural contexts of writing in English from all over the world, from the late Middle Ages to the present, specializing in Scottish Literature as students move through their literary study.
With a particular emphasis on the history of Scotland, the Edinburgh experience is distinctive. Students will engage with a range of historical themes, chronological periods and geographical areas, and study using a rich variety of approaches to the past.
