About Master of Arts (Honours) - Russian Studies and English Literature (RQ73)

Approximately 150 million individuals worldwide speak Russian, a language that holds significant importance within global cultural and political spheres. Throughout history, the Russophone world has exerted a profound international influence on literature, alongside English-speaking cultures.

The objective of this joint honors program is to foster the development of critical, analytical, linguistic, and creative skills through the exploration of a wide array of texts in both English and Russian, utilizing various approaches to reading.

Through intensive language training, which includes a year of study abroad, participants will have the opportunity to cultivate advanced speaking, writing, reading, and translating abilities in Russian.

Furthermore, this program equips students with the necessary skills for critically analyzing poetry, drama, and prose, while also delving into the cultural contexts of English writing from the late Middle Ages to the present. At the honors level, students have the flexibility to choose courses based on their personal interests in specific topics, periods, or literary genres.
