Program Description
If students are experienced educational professionals in a leadership role this course is for them. Students explore an aspect of leadership relevant to their own interests and career development. Students reflect on practice in their own organization, identify areas of professional concern and explore their own approach to leadership using a range of diagnostic tools for self-assessment.
The core modules in this MA enable students to update their knowledge and skills and give students the opportunity to reflect on their professional practice whilst developing their understanding of theoretical models and current debates. There is a strong emphasis on the application of students' studies to their professional context.
Students study two modules, Using the Literature to Inform Educational Research and the Dissertation. These modules are pieces of extended supervised work and the topic, which is chosen by the student, must be in an area of leadership. By opting for this named route, students achieve a qualification which showcases this specialism clearly to employers.
