Program Description
The MA Education (Applied) enhances students' knowledge and understanding of education and develops their academic, professional, employability and work-related skills and knowledge appropriate education sector students are interested in.
Transferable skills help students' practical and professional development by consolidating, enhancing and extending their disciplinary expertise, experience and abilities. The Applied route enables students to work directly with an organization, applying and demonstrating the knowledge and skills students gain during the first stage of their course.
The course focuses on:
- a self-selected aspect of education that will be of value to students' professional development
- students' capacity to operate as a reflective professional in educational settings
- increasing students' understanding of the professional attitudes and ethics in the workplace and/or a research-based environment
- supporting students' to develop a range of advanced research skills appropriate to postgraduate study and professional practice to critically evaluate existing work, and design research to further knowledge within education
- real-world practical experience in a professional setting to enhance students' employability and underpin their academic learning.
