This Teesside University's programme is organized around students' professional development and is flexible to meet their needs if they work, or intend to work in the education sector - in schools, universities, colleges and also a range of newer educational settings such as the uniformed services, the NHS and early years provision for children under school age, such as privately run day nurseries.
The content and delivery encourages students to think about their own professional role and how this is influenced by a variety of issues. Through reflection students look at the impact on their own work and those around them. Students consider policies and practices, relate theory to practice and highlight how external drivers influence what they do. At the beginning of the programme students consider an aspect of professional practice that is relevant to them and explore this through a range of perspectives. Students draw on various bodies of research, and national and international real-world examples.
