Program Description
In the first year of this Welding and Fabrication Technician diploma, students will get hands-on training in shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) and flux-cored arc welding (FCAW). In second year, they will learn advanced techniques including flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead welding. This diploma prepares learners for structural and pipe/pressure vessel applications.
Students will experience hours of hands-on learning in labs that mirror the professional welding workplace. They will also learn from the most highly certified welding faculty of any college in the Greater Toronto Area. Sheridan's instructors bring decades of industry experience into their teaching. Small class sizes mean students will get one-on-one mentorship with these instructors to help them succeed in class and at work.
