Bachelor of Science - Agriculture - Agricultural Leadership - Extension Education (BSAG)

Agricultural leadership provides students with a deep understanding of leadership theory and its application. The five core values of the major are commitment to agriculture, authentic leadership, diversity, critical thinking and professionalism.

The power to motivate people is essential to any organization. Agricultural leadership students will graduate with a solid foundation in leadership as it relates to effectively working with people and teams from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Students can take advantage of the major’s flexibility to customize their coursework according to their career interests.

The Extension education option has specialized coursework which will prepare students to pursue a career in Extension and to develop science-based educational programs helping the public solve local issues and concerns related to agriculture, community and rural development, family and youth development. Students will learn to solve local issues and take courses related to leadership theory and rural economic development. Students will create skills which will allow them to facilitate leadership programming and assist in problem-solving.
