Academic Accelerator - Bachelor of Science - Plant and Soil Systems - Turf and Landscape Management

The curriculum in plant and soil systems integrates the study of agronomy, entomology, horticulture, plant pathology, and crop physiology. Students in this curriculum will take core courses that establish a foundational knowledge necessary for specialization in one of the following concentrations:

The Turf and Landscape Management concentration focuses on the principles of turfgrass and landscape management, covering topics such as plant selection, installation, and maintenance. Emphasis is placed on propagation, cultural practices, plant nutrition, and plant protection. Students will develop skills in managing various landscapes, including golf courses, sports fields, botanic gardens, and residential and commercial landscapes. Opportunities for internships in different positions nationwide are also available. Graduates of this concentration will be well-prepared for careers as athletic field managers, golf course superintendents, grounds managers or foremen, industry sales professionals, employees of lawn care companies, and agrichemical companies.
