Academic Accelerator - Bachelor of Fine Art - Studio Art - Printmaking

The Academic Accelerator Program (AAP) is a balanced first-year program designed for international students with strong English-language skills. It provides additional support to complement English-taught classes, ensuring students have the necessary resources to succeed.

The LSU School of Art offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Studio Art with concentrations in ceramics, painting & drawing, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. Each concentration includes coursework in art history.

Students in these programs learn to work independently and collaboratively, developing the skills to critique and discuss their own work and that of their peers. They are trained to think critically, solve problems creatively, and communicate effectively. By studying studio art, design, art history, and contemporary art theory, students gain the skills and knowledge needed to make their artistic practices relevant to current and historical issues.

With a strong foundation in artistic, technical, and conceptual skills, students are prepared to pursue further education in graduate school or pursue careers as independent artists or professionals in fields such as film, video, computer graphics, game design, web design, typography, and more. The Printmaking concentration within the BFA Studio Art program explores traditional, digital, and innovative methods of image-making, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the power of print.
