Civil engineering is a rewarding profession with engineers increasingly working in multidisciplinary teams. This practical course will ensure students have the technical and management capabilities to contribute effectively in a wide range of environments.
The course team will help students secure work placements during the summer and your sandwich year, should you choose to take one. They will also be supported in recording your initial professional development for membership of the accrediting institutions.
This course offers the opportunity to take a ‘sandwich’ year – a year of paid employment in industry which will build their skills and experience. This is usually taken between the second and third year of their degree, typically making your course four years in total. Students who choose the sandwich route find it helps with both their studies and getting a job after graduation. It can build their confidence, contacts, and of course your CV. Leeds Beckett advertise lots of placement opportunities and provide support in helping students find the right placement for themselves.
