Students will gain an understanding of business and PR by exploring the fashion journey, from the design stage through to production, display and advertising.
This program will teach students to identify and predict trends, and they will learn why these trends are so important to the fashion industry. They will also discover the techniques behind ensuring your brand gets the attention of influential fashion bloggers and how to get their clothing into the headlines, as well as studying fashion history and the effect of political changes and social movements on fashion.
Their studies will be informed and delivered by people from all areas of the fashion industry, and you will work on live briefs set by real clients. They will also have the opportunity to do a placement year and experience a range of careers first hand. Our placements will allow you build their experience and contacts, as well as helping you decide what you want to achieve when they graduate.
Whether they want to focus on the theory of marketing, learn more about fashion writing or discover graphic design and branding, they will be able to tailor their course to suit their career ambitions.
This course offers the opportunity to take a ‘sandwich’ year – a year of paid employment in industry which will build their skills and experience. This is usually taken between the second and third year of their degree, typically making your course four years in total. Students who choose the sandwich route find it helps with both their studies and getting a job after graduation. It can build their confidence, contacts, and of course their CV.
