In BA (Hons) Business and Management course, students will gain an expert understanding of how businesses operate and develop the skills needed to become strategic and successful managers. They'll be able to apply their business-theory knowledge in a client-facing consultancy project and gain the practical experience needed to impress potential employers.
Students will develop their understanding of business and management issues at both a national level and a global level and across a wide array of industries and sectors. They'll enhance their entrepreneurial skills through active participation in national student competitions, such as the IBM University Business Challenge.
This undergraduate course offers the opportunity to take a ‘sandwich’ year – a year of paid employment in industry which will build students' skills and experience. They can also put their knowledge into practice through in-class case study work, internships, study abroad and volunteering opportunities. Previous students have enjoyed paid placements with top companies including Disney, Warner Brothers, L'Oréal, Unilever, Marks & Spencer, VW and KPMG.
LBU offers opportunities to engage with real businesses through live projects, chair discussions and guest lectures. Past speakers include the CEO of the London Stock Exchange, the Chief Executive of the British Bankers Association and the Chief Economist of Yorkshire Bank.
The BA (Hons) Business and Management graduates are highly motivated, dynamic, flexible, articulate, numerate, innovative and creative. They have gone on to work in management roles across a variety of industries, including manufacturing, retail and healthcare.
