Students will examine key business areas, including marketing, finance, economics, enterprise, strategy and events management, and their relationship with sport. A focus on digital analytics in big business will provide key skills that support today's global businesses.
Students will learn about the increasing professionalization of sport, investigate the requirements of governance and explore how the changing needs of the consumer have transformed it into one of the most lucrative industries in the world. Millions of pounds are spent each year on broadcasting rights, licensing and merchandising and this course has been designed so they can seize these new and exciting opportunities.
This course offers the opportunity to take a ‘sandwich’ year – a year of paid employment in industry which will build their skills and experience. This is usually taken between the second and third year of their degree, typically making their course four years in total. Students who choose the sandwich route find it helps with both their studies and getting a job after graduation. It can build their confidence, contacts, and of course their CV.
