Students will build on their successes in the Bachelor of Agricultural Sciences by completing Honours to enhance employability or take their first steps to a career in research, academia and beyond.
Mentored by expert staff from La Trobe's School of Life Sciences, students will develop a variety of scientific techniques by conducting their own research project. To complement their research, essential laboratory, scientific communication and presentation skills established during their undergraduate degree will be consolidated through workshops and exercises. Students will also be exposed to leading edge methodologies as part of a competitive research team.
By completing Honours, students will be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge in their field and, through their professional behaviors, the values that shape the work of a professional scientist. Students will also have advanced skills in designing and successfully implementing scientific investigations, analyzing and interpreting data and presenting their findings to scientific audiences.
