Scholarship Value and Payment

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be an international student (citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand)
- Not hold a humanitarian or permanent visa
- Be a full fee-paying student (non-sponsored)
- Apply for direct entry into an eligible course commencing Semester 1/Term 1-3 in 2026 at any La Trobe Victorian campus (Albury-Wodonga, Bendigo, Melbourne, City, Mildura, Shepparton)
- Meet La Trobe University’s English language requirements and all conditions stated in the Offer Letter
- Obtain an offer letter before scholarship selection (exceptions require approval)
- Pass the Genuine Student assessment including financial checks
- Submit a completed application form for Semester 2/Term 4/Term 5 2026 intake if applicable
- Demonstrate outstanding academic performance with a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 80
- Provide a written statement (maximum 250 words) explaining the difference they hope to make beyond academic achievement
Application Process and Deadlines
- The scholarship is not automatically awarded; applicants must apply for their course and receive an offer first
- Submit a personal statement addressing the impact they aim to make in their field or community after graduation
- Application deadlines:
- International students outside Australia: 14 December 2025
- International students in Australia: 1 February 2026
- Middle East and East Asia: 29 April 2026
- All other international students outside Australia: 17 May 2026
- International students in Australia (final deadline): 1 July 2026
- Applicants will be ranked by WAM and shortlisted for a final selection round, which may include interviews or video submissions
Recipient Obligations
- Must maintain full-time enrolment and satisfactory academic progress throughout the course
- Scholarship cannot be deferred to 2027; inability to secure a student visa for 2026 may result in revocation
- Participation in International Scholarship Program events during studies is required
