International Year One - Undergraduate Pathway - General (2-Semester Pathway) Transfer to Bachelor of Science in Education - Special Education - Specialist in Deaf and Hard of Hearing

International Year One is a supportive program that allows students to earn credits towards their degree while receiving additional academic, cultural and language support customized for international students.

Upon successful completion of the Pathway program and meeting university requirements for undergraduate admission, you may enter your next semester of study at Illinois State University.

Specialists in Deaf and Hard of Hearing teach students from preschool through age 21 in public schools and other specialized programs. Students in this specialty undertake courses in language, literacy, speech pathology, audiology, and sign language.

Special education teachers are present at all grade levels, instructing students with a variety of disabilities, including visual and hearing impairments, learning disabilities, and physical disabilities. These educators design and modify instruction to address the unique needs of their students.
