International Year One - Undergraduate Pathway - General (2-Semester Pathway) Transfer to Bachelor of Science - General History

International Year One is a supportive program that allows students to earn credits towards their degree while receiving additional academic, cultural and language support customized for international students.

Upon successful completion of the Pathway program and meeting university requirements for undergraduate admission, you may enter your next semester of study at Illinois State University.

The Spanish program at Illinois State University takes pride in offering small classes where students receive individualized attention and training in all aspects of language proficiency. Equally important, undergraduates develop critical thinking skills and an appreciation for diversity as they take courses in Hispanic cultures and literatures, as well as Spanish linguistics.

The program includes a strong foundation of fundamentals, allowing students to build their own curriculum from a selection of electives that interest them most. It also provides community-based service learning experiences and opportunities to participate in award-winning student organizations, such as the Spanish Club and Sigma Delta Pi, Illinois State's chapter of the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society.

Additionally, the program offers flexible study-abroad opportunities in Latin America and Spain, allowing students to participate for as little as a week over spring break or for an entire year. These experiences offer excellent chances for language development, cultural immersion, broadening perspectives, and forming friendships that have the potential to last a lifetime.
