Accredited by the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) against the NMC’s 2018 standards, this course in Adult Nursing expertly blends theory with real-world experience and was developed in conjunction with practice partners, service users and careers and students. The aim of this course is to give students all the knowledge and skills needed to feel confident working as a nurse and to be eligible to register as an Adult Nurse with the NMC.
As well as acquiring knowledge from highly qualified and experienced lecturers and practitioners, students will focus throughout the course developing the core skills required to become a competent registered nurse in a rapidly changing and evolving health care setting. Interactive learning facilities provide access to a full range of learning materials through BUs virtual learning environment which complements lectures and seminars as students develop their knowledge in key areas of nursing practice from Pathophysiology and Medicines management to nursing assessment, communication skills and interprofessional working. BUs simulation suites replicate a range of clinical and community environments and allow students to learn practical techniques in a safe and controlled setting.
For any nursing programme, placements are central to learning where under the supervision of a practice supervisor (who will be a registered health professional) there is the opportunity to learn from practice and to implement theoretical learning in practice.
