For the Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Ancient Studies program, you'll study the ancient world through a variety of disciplines. You'll take courses on the ancient civilizations of Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas. But you can also take courses in History, Archaeology, Philosophy, and Religion in Culture as you explore the literature, myth, politics and philosophies of the first civilizations, including:
- Egypt
- Greece
- Rome
- China
- Mesopotamia
In this program, Students will learn how these ancient periods influence present and future culture, society, community relationships, and social and political development. You’ll acquire the skills to assess the accuracy of historical information, custom and context. You'll also be able to provide direction and input on the development and use of historical references and materials.
In the fourth-year capstone seminar, students will have an opportunity to gain hands-on research experience.
