Program Description
Developmental psychology is concerned with both physical and psychological changes throughout life—from conception until death. Opportunities to participate in research projects and to apply classroom skills through involvement in community organizations. Fourth-year students can apply to participate in the Developmental Psychology Practicum to review learning-based behaviour change strategies and apply them in community placements
Developmental Psychology is a specialized Psychology program that focuses on child, adolescent, and adult development. Courses emphasize different developmental periods and characteristics of both typical and atypical development over the lifespan.
The four-year Honours BA in Developmental Psychology program is ideal for students if they are interested in pursuing such non-psychology professional degrees as education, social work, or speech-language pathology. The four-year Honours BA in Developmental Psychology with Thesis program will prepare them to apply for MA and PhD degrees in psychology.
