The Undergraduate Foundation Program (UFP) offers successful students guaranteed progression to the University of Southampton. This program is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to undergraduate studies at the University of Southampton.
This program includes English and three academic subject modules. There are three academic pathways to choose from and candidates will study the pathway most suited to their chosen progression degree. The pathways are: Business, Economics, Finance and Management, Humanities and Social Sciences and Art and Design.
The Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and English will give graduates an excellent education in literature, theory and critical thinking. In their degree they can:
- learn about philosophical questions such as ethics, reason and responsibility
- explore philosophy and literature through diverse times and places, from Viking to Victorian eras, from Eastern to African settings
- study themes like the Islamic Golden Age, classical Indian philosophy, and holocaust literature
- explore contested narratives, for example, race and culture in American literature.
