The Level 6 Pre-Master’s Program is designed to prepare international students for postgraduate study in the United Kingdom. The program will allow students to improve their English while learning the study skills and research methods that they will need during their Master’s degree studies.
The duration of the Level 6 program is two semesters. Each semester consists of a minimum of 13 teaching weeks. Students will be expected to timetable self-study hours in addition to the classroom-based hours. Each module will have an assessment schedule, which will be completed by the end of the appropriate semester. Assessments will be designed to demonstrate learning across the individual modules of the program and to allow candidates to experience a wide range of the assessment methods used in United Kingdom postgraduate program.
Graduates will study macro and microeconomics to evaluate economic policy and problems in the Master of Science in Economics at Southampton. They will gain in-depth knowledge of the concepts, tools and methods used in modern economics. This will prepare students for a career as an economist, or to continue their research studies and is an Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) recognized training program.
