About Bachelor of Science - Interdisciplinary Biomedical Science

Biomedical science is the foundation of knowledge and discovery that ultimately improves patient care. As biomedical scientists, students will ask the questions and find the answers that improve the health and well-being of the people of Saskatchewan and the world. All of the University of Saskatchewan majors build on the foundation of a two-year biomedical science core platform which provides students with an introductory exposure to cell biology, biochemistry, microbiology, physiology, and pharmacology. Once the core courses have been completed, students have the opportunity to continue in the program and select one of the BMSC majors. This allows students a broad introductory experience to decide which major suits them best. Students can apply directly to the BMSC program from high school.

The Interdisciplinary Biomedical Science program addresses modern priorities in biomedical science education and will provide students with student-centric, multidisciplinary training to pursue careers within a spectrum of science-based activities. Students will build research skills that will serve as a strong basis for graduate training in biomedical sciences and health-related professional programs such as medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine and pharmacy.
