About Bachelor of Arts - General Arts + Juris Doctor of Law

Program Description

As the only college or faculty at a Canadian university to offer courses in the sciences, social sciences, humanities and fine arts, University of Saskatchewan students enjoy unparalleled academic options. Their focus on unique, modern and interdisciplinary programming allows students to gain in-depth perspectives of their world on their terms.

University of Saskatchewan's Juris Doctor (JD) degree program provides the opportunity to pursue a legal education in a collegial and student-centered environment. A state-of-the-art teaching and learning facility, world-class faculty, innovative programs and course offerings combine to provide an extraordinary educational experience, preparing each student for the exceptional opportunities of the future.

Note: Acceptance to University of Saskatchewan's Juris Doctor program is extremely competitive and not guaranteed purely on the basis of completing pre-requisite work. Most students accepted into the program have a degree from a recognized university. The minimum requirement to enter the JD program is two full years (60 credit units) of academic work at a recognized university, or the equivalent of such work. Applicants must also submit a Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) score and a personal statement (maximum of 500 words). ESL applicants must also provide a TOEFL score. Past experience indicates that, as a general rule, successful applicants have a grade point average of 80 per cent  and score 159 or higher on the LSAT. The Juris Doctor program has a tuition of approximately $39,342 per year.
