In this program, students will earn their degree from the College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences and learn how decisions made by consumers, firms, and governments about the use of resources – like time and money – affect people and businesses. Students will study economic factors like supply and demand, inflation, international trade, unemployment, and governmental policies.
As an economics major, students will develop strong critical thinking, analytical, and research skills. Students will also build a solid foundation of knowledge of economic systems and regulation. Students will be prepared for a variety of careers, spanning government administration, politics, business, and economic research. This major is good preparation for graduate study in economics, law, or business.
