Bachelor of Science (with Honours) - Mathematics with a Placement Year

Mathematics has been proven useful in just about every field of human endeavour. It provides a rational, objective means for the foundation of knowledge, and is used in science and exploration, in business and government, in industry and forecasting, in art and in baking – and UEA's BSc Mathematics is incredibly popular as a result.

Students spend the third of this four-year BSc degree on a full-time industrial placement lasting nine to fourteen months, where they will put theoretical work into professional practice, and gain a real advantage for when they graduate.

The academic side of course will develop students' interests in mathematics and statistics, and its flexible format will allow them to focus on pure and applied mathematics and statistics, or complement their studies with modules from related subjects taught by other UEA Schools, such as meteorology, business, computing, and financial accounting. In this way students can tailor their course to reflect their strengths and interests.
