About Bachelor of Arts (with Honours) - English Literature and Drama with a Placement Year
English Literature and Drama explore how characters and stories help us reflect on ourselves and envision new worlds. These art forms convey history and provide tools for self-exploration.
This degree allows student to study in two exceptional departments, learning from researchers, writers, and critics. Student will delve into writing and criticism across prose, poetry, and drama, and how to perform texts.
Student will engage with literature from various centuries and genres, from ancient epics to modern works, and explore global theatre practices in writing, production, and performance.
On this course, student will spend 9-12 months of the third year* gaining work experience and employability skills in a relevant workplace of your choice. Student will be responsible for securing the own placement with the support of the Career Central Service and the own School. Student will begin preparing for the placement early in the first year and will receive guidance each step along the way.
