Program Description
As the most comprehensive commercial music program in the Rocky Mountain region, the Performance program at CU Denver offers a bachelor’s degree that prepares graduates to work as professional musicians. Since it does not follow the traditional conservatory model, the program allows for great flexibility in career exploration!
CU Denver's downtown location puts students right in the center of Denver’s vibrant local music scene. And they also perform— from hip-hop to a capella— nationally and internationally— in South Korea, Russia, Amsterdam, and more. All Performance students also benefit by working directly with their classmates in the Music & Entertainment Industry Studies Department in Audio Production and Music Business students by collaborating on recording projects, marketing, and promotion.
This Performance program is particularly well-suited for performers interested in a range of commercial and creative options, including guitarists, bassists, vocalists, keyboardists, percussionist drummers, string players, and electronic musicians creating original material and media content.
