Merit Scholarships

Award Value

• Scholarships range from $5,000 to $10,000 per academic year depending on GPA.
• Renewable for up to 4 years for freshmen and 2 years for transfer students.
• Funding is awarded for fall and spring terms only.

Eligibility Criteria

• Open to non-resident, non-sponsored international freshman and transfer students.
• Must be enrolled in on-campus degree programs at CU Denver.
• Not available for online study or CU Denver partnership programs.
• Scholarships are awarded automatically based on GPA converted to the US 4.0 scale by International Admissions.
• Students with an approved Reduced Course Load (RCL) by CU Denver International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) retain their scholarships according to policy.

GPA and Scholarship Amounts

• GPA 3.0 to 3.29: $5,000 per year
• GPA 3.3 to 3.69: $7,500 per year
• GPA 3.7 and above: $10,000 per year

Important Notes

• Scholarships are available for students admitted in fall, spring, and summer terms; however, summer admits receive their first award in the following fall term.
• Scholarship awards are communicated in the admission letter.
• Early application is encouraged to maximize scholarship opportunities and course enrollment options.
