Program Description
The mission of the Sociology Department at the University of Colorado Denver is:
- to offer a multifaceted learning experience to students that provides an understanding of how individuals and institutions interact to shape the social world
- to conduct empirical and theoretical research in order to advance and expand knowledge in the field of sociology
- to participate actively in programs of interdisciplinary research and education
- to bring sociological theory and research to bear on social problems in the communities where faculty, staff and students live and work
