Program Description
The Computer Science (CS) Program at the University of Central Missouri has more than 45 years history of academic excellence. UCM has one of the largest Computer Science departments in the state of Missouri. This is an exciting and growing department that has a balanced approach to teaching and scholarly activities. They offer undergraduate programs in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Networking, Game Development, and Data Science. Students who complete the program go on to careers as software engineers, programmers, project managers, designers, consultants or architects who create software as well as computer specialists who administrate database and networking systems. The program curricula provide hands-on training in computer science, software development and systems design, and are designed according to the Association for Computing Machinery curricula guidelines. They provide an unmatched education to students in the region, and they're proud of it. With the demand for qualified technical personnel far exceeding the available supply, the opportunities awaiting computer science graduates are nearly limitless.
Computer Networking program focuses the design and creation software that will run on a network or the internet. Students will learn about the latest technologies to develop client side and/or server side web applications and how to make their applications secure. The curriculum has a balance coverage of both hardware and software aspects of the computer networks.
