Program Description
Through the Actuarial Science and Statistics program at the University of Central Missouri, high-achieving mathematics students will be prepared to use mathematics to predict the future in insurance, business and the economy. UCM’s program is recognized as a Universities and Colleges with Actuarial Programs—Advanced Curriculum (UCAP-AC) by the Society of Actuaries, making it the only one of its kind at a public institution in Missouri.
Statistics focuses on applied statistics and is a great choice in a data-centric world. Students will learn to use their knowledge in statistics, mathematics, and computer technology to assist their future employers to make decisions and predictions based on data collection, interpretation, analysis and presentation. Thanks to a 17-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio, their experienced professors will have the opportunity to get to know the students and provide them with personalized attention.
