About Master of Arts (Honours) - Scandinavian Studies and English Language (QR36)

The languages and linguistics of the Scandinavian countries have had a significant influence beyond the Nordic region for a considerable period of time. This joint honors program offers individuals the chance to acquire knowledge in Danish, Norwegian, or Swedish while delving into the evolution of the English language.

By combining the study of languages with an understanding of their respective cultures, participants demonstrate their proficiency in communication, problem-solving, and their willingness to embrace different cultures and novel concepts – qualities highly valued by employers as intercultural competence.

The University of Edinburgh program, individuals have the opportunity to enhance their proficiency in spoken and written modern Danish, Norwegian, or Swedish, while also exploring the rich Scandinavian culture, both historical and contemporary.
