Master of Arts (Honours) - Portuguese and Philosophy (RV55)

Studying at Edinburgh, individuals are provided with the opportunity to develop advanced spoken and written skills in Portuguese. Alongside intensive language training, students are immersed in a vast array of literature, film, music, and arts from Europe, Latin America, and Lusophone Africa.

It is worth noting that many graduates initially began as complete beginners in Portuguese. However, upon completing the program, they are able to showcase a wide range of linguistic skills and crucial intercultural competencies.

By studying philosophy, individuals are able to engage in clear, disciplined, and systematic thinking regarding some of the great philosophical questions. This field of study introduces students to the thoughts of both past and present philosophers, while also shedding light on the connections between various aspects of human experience. Additionally, studying philosophy enhances one's awareness of the assumptions that serve as the foundation for their beliefs.
