About Master of Arts (Honours) -Philosophy (V500)
Studying philosophy allows individuals to contemplate some of the great philosophical questions in a clear, disciplined, and systematic manner.
Philosophy:
- Introduces individuals to the thinking of notable philosophers from the past and present.
- Sheds light on the connections between various areas of human experience.
- Enhances individuals' awareness of the assumptions that underlie their beliefs.
In the first year, students will undertake three mandatory courses:
- Greats: From Plato to the Enlightenment
- Morality and Value
- Logic 1
These courses provide an introduction to key subjects such as:
- The history of philosophy
- Morality and ethics
- The nature of argument
