Bachelor of Arts - Health Humanities

As medicine today becomes increasingly complex, the growing reliance on science and technology risks dehumanization. Health humanities is a fast-growing, interdisciplinary field that seeks to counter these risks and restore humanistic approaches to healthcare.

St. Scholastica Health Humanities students will explore human values and healthcare ethics. The program delves deeply into the human aspects of healthcare, including feelings, emotions, thoughts, meanings, values and beliefs. Students will gain insight into the inner world of human experiences through humanistic methods. The curriculum combines healthcare with the humanities to teach students about the human condition, human suffering and healing, and human well-being and flourishing.

This program has five core courses:
