Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques will provide students with the skills and knowledge to perform a range of manual, semi-automated and fully automated laboratory techniques for the purpose of collecting and preparing samples.
Students will look forward to a career which can include specialist testing across a variety of sectors. They will learn to adjust formulations and production mixes, process and interpret data, train other personnel to follow established procedures, conduct basic tests and evaluate progress and quality.
This 9 month, intensive program has been developed in consultation with industry so students will gain the expertise that employers are looking for.
TAFE NSW's Diploma of Laboratory Technology (Pathology) prepares graduates to work unsupervised in pathology labs in both the government and private sector. This is an important medical profession, and students' work as a lab technician or officer plays a vital role in assisting medical diagnoses and informing treatment decisions.
This qualification takes into account the rapid integration of future technologies such as robotics and artificial intelligence to equip students with the knowledge they need to flourish in the laboratory. The amount of laboratory work needed for quality assurance services has grown substantially, meaning there will always be a strong demand for qualified technicians.
