Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques will provide students with the skills and knowledge to perform a range of manual, semi-automated and fully automated laboratory techniques for the purpose of collecting and preparing samples.
Students will look forward to a career which can include specialist testing across a variety of sectors. They will learn to adjust formulations and production mixes, process and interpret data, train other personnel to follow established procedures, conduct basic tests and evaluate progress and quality.
This 9 month, intensive program has been developed in consultation with industry so students will gain the expertise that employers are looking for.
TAFE NSW's Diploma of Laboratory Technology (Chemistry) builds on students' existing laboratory skills and knowledge, so they are able to perform a wide range of routine and complex specialized tests. Students will have the opportunity to work with a range of samples that are atypical and in multiple operating variables.
This program has been developed in consultation with industry so students will gain the expertise that employers are looking for. Students' skills will be refined in real lab environments that reflect the standards of the chemical sciences industry. Graduates of this course go on to roles such as laboratory technician and technical officer.
