Through TAFE NSW's Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Assisting in Nursing Work Acute Care) students will learn to interpret and apply medical terminology, work with diverse people, recognise healthy body systems, comply with infection prevention and control policies, as well as the fundamentals of workplace health and safety.
TAFE NSW teachers will equip students with the knowledge they will need to provide support and assistance to health professionals and the patients in their care. The accredited Diploma of Nursing prepares students to provide expert nursing care across the health sector.
Students will learn anatomy and physiology, infection control and medication administration to work in a range of health care settings including acute, aged care, rehabilitation and mental health. The University has developed this course in consultation with peak bodies and industry partners. Extensive network gives students the opportunity to learn in diverse workplaces and to improve their technical and professional nursing skills.
A work placement and on-the-job training will give students diploma level nursing skills across a range of nursing disciplines.
