Program Description

Biotechnology is a rapidly growing area with many applications in health, agriculture and industry. The Applied Biotechnology specialization within the Biological Science program combines a primary emphasis on both biology and chemistry. Students gain a strong understanding of cell and molecular biology, microbiology, immunology, biochemistry and physiology. Students in this specialization also benefit from enhanced laboratory experience.

Students who are interested in managerial and leadership roles can consider applying for the five-year Bachelor of Science and Management (Honours) program in their upper years of study. Graduates gain a solid foundation in the key functional areas of business and management, including finance, accounting, operations, project management and marketing.
