Bachelor of Science - Agriculture - Environmental Science - Environmental Policy (BSAG)

Environmental science aims to improve the current and future welfare of humans through the application of science and the development of sound environmental policies. Students will focus on the study of the natural environment, its processes and interactions, and the ways in which humans impact and interact within the environment.

As environmental science majors, students will engage in problem-solving studies related to water and soil quality, economics, environmental policy, political science, resource management and engineering. They will also gain important skills in communication, philosophy, ethics and sociology. An environmental science degree is versatile. Graduates are employed in a wide range of fields and sectors including private, non-profit and government agencies.

The environmental policy option is rooted in science with a focus on environmental rules and regulations needed to manage resources. With the environmental policy option, students will learn the key environmental policies and laws that are used to protect the environment. This option will prepare students to work for federal, state and private organizations in the application of environmental protection policies, as well as preparing students to potentially attend law school.
