College Certificate - Bricklaying

About College Certificate - Bricklaying
In New Brunswick Community College's Bricklaying program, students will learn techniques for reading blueprints, cutting, mortar, wall building, masonry repair, rigging and scaffolding as well as building codes and quality standards. This program is perfect for students who enjoy physical work, being outside and the satisfaction of seeing their work progress from first brick to finished project.
From ancient wonders of the world to modern buildings and décor, bricklayers have always made their mark on the world. Bricklayers use their keen eye for detail, creativity and specialized knowledge of brick, stone and concrete to construct, extend and repair buildings and other structures such as foundations, walls, chimneys or decorative masonry work. As new structures are built and old ones are given new life, the need for skilled masonry professionals continues to grow.
Students registered in this program should be in good physical condition, with the endurance to lift and move heavy objects repeatedly, have good hand-eye coordination and motor skills; and be able to work at heights.
