Civil engineers tackle some of the greatest challenges in contemporary society by designing and building structures and infrastructure for an increasingly urbanized global population in an ever-changing environment.
The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Civil Engineering can be studied with a placement year (over 4 years) or without (over 3 years). Completing a placement year successfully earns students an additional qualification (Diploma in Industrial Studies). Students of the program may transfer to the Civil Engineering Master of Engineering (Honours) degree at the end of Year 2, subject to satisfactory performance. The Civil Engineering courses also offer sponsorship, extensive laboratory facilities, several field courses away from the university, including surveying, geotechnics and water engineering.
