This course will train students to teach 11 to 16-year-olds (Key Stages 3 and 4) and, by arrangement, 16 to 18-year-olds in a secondary school environment. This PGCE leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
The modern languages included are French, Spanish and German, and students will be developing pupils’ skills in speaking, reading, listening and writing the language they choose to learn.
At the University, students will study teaching methodology, pupil assessment and how children learn. There will also be collaborative and school-based projects with other trainees.
Based in London, this PGCE course will broaden students' understanding of teaching in multicultural urban environments. Through the two school placements, students will learn how to help pupils develop their foreign languages effectively and fluently.
An International Bright Futures Scholarship in the amount of £3,000 will automatically be applied to eligible students with overseas fee status starting a degree with London Met in the 2024/25 academic year. This scholarship includes a tuition fee reduction for the duration of students' studies and is applicable to both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Tuition Deposit is £4,000 for all students excluding those from Punjab and Haryana for whom the deposit amount will remain at 50%
